The only organization for family business succession
All the advantages
Inspiring testimonials from speakers who have all experienced the family business. The invited entrepreneurs can thus give judicious and personalized advice to the succession. In the past, we have had the Molson family, Saputo and Germain, all renowned speakers and industry leaders.
We understand that each member of Groupe La Relève is unique and has different needs. This is why we offer a variety of training courses with themes that affect the next generation with leading figures in family entrepreneurship. We are privileged to have partners such as National Bank of Canada, EY, BFL CANADA, Famille en affaires- HEC Montréal, Centre de transfert d’entreprise du Québec and École d’entrepreneurship de Beauce.
We are the only organization exclusively dedicated to family business succession. Our meetings are held in a context of trust, allowing members to share their challenges and projects in complete privacy. Participants can benefit from the advice of other participants in a friendly learning environment. You will join a group of 20 entrepreneurs and you will have the opportunity to meet all the other members of Groupe La Relève during intergroup evening events.
Groupe La Relève ensured that tools were put in place to provide genuine support to the next generation. Our email : support@groupelareleve.com is a free transmission link between our members and our partners. Our members can directly ask questions to our partners via this email address.

About the organization
Succession within a family is a challenge for the entire family business, both parents and the next generation. We define the concept of family specific to each home, some work with their parents, their brothers and sisters, while others work with their in-laws, cousins or uncles. For us, the principle of a family business is in the desire to pass it on to the next generation. It is essential for all to be organized in order to ensure the continuity of the family business. Three young, up-and-coming family entrepreneurs who are experiencing this transition have decided to start a business to provide real support to family businesses.
Since 2014, Groupe La Relève has proven to be indispensable for young people of the next generation. Today, Groupe La Relève has more than 100 active members.
The operation is simple: groups of 20 entrepreneurs identified as the company’s successors meet monthly. Members must work in different areas of activity and respect a few basic principles of listening, confidentiality and assiduous presence to boost the regional group of which they are part of.
Together, they provide support, address key themes for business succession, share their experiences and advise, discuss issues and develop their knowledge.
Our partners
Business partners of Groupe La Relève were all selected because they showed, above all, an interest in the members. Because of their areas of expertise, they have added value in terms of entrepreneurship in a family context. In addition, members have privileged access to the services offered by our sponsors and benefit from advantageous conditions.

How it works
There are two components to Groupe La Releve: conferences and training. We invite speakers who deliver inspiring testimonials to members while giving them practical advice. For example, in the past, we received the Molson, Saputo and Germain family. We offer various training through our partners, including taxation, communication, insurance, human resource and leadership. Topics are determined according to the needs of groups.
There are a total of 11 monthly meetings a year from 6pm to 9pm. We have a break in July. The groups meet in their respective territories. However, you do not have to join a group depending on the location of your business. For example, if your company is in Montreal and you live in Laval, you can join Groupe Rive-Nord, as long as you are ready to move around the territory.
The subscription to Groupe La Relève is individual. However, if your brother, sister or cousin is interested in joining the group, it will be our pleasure to enroll them in another group than yours. We also understand that the assignors occupy a large place within the family business and that is why we organize a major yearly event that includes them: https://www.journaldemontreal.com/2017/05/30/le-groupe-la-releve-en-famille-en-affaires
The areas of activity of members vary by group. Among others, sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, professional, retail, technologies, marketing, real estate, distribution and leisure can be found among our groups. Within a regional cell, it is impossible for two members to be in the same activity sector. We want to avoid any form of competition.
We operate with a flexible annual membership principle that is open throughout the year. We invite you to contact us for more details: info@groupelareleve.com
Yes you are eligible! Some members have experienced the business transfer and remain members of the Groupe La Relève since they still live daily issues in the family business.
Even if the Groupe La Relève activities are relevant to entrepreneurship, it is impossible to join the group if you are not in a family business. Our meetings are created according to the family succession.
While many of our members are bilingual, all of our activities, conferences and training are currently held in french.
If you would be interested in an anglophone group, please inform us at info@groupelareleve.com
